Are you caring for an elderly loved one? You are a caregiver!
COMMUNIQUÉ : The Centre de soutien entr’Aidants has been offering assistance and support to caregivers caring for an elderly family member for more than 28 years. Since 2012, we offer these services to the English speaking population, by two Anglophone counsellors.
If you assume the responsibility for an elderly relative with a loss of autonomy, helping them with personal hygiene, groceries or other responsibilities, you are a Caregiver, whether you live with the person or not. To prevent exhaustion, break your isolation, lighten your daily burden and share experiences with those who are living in a similar situation, we offer you individual counselling, coffee-meetings, and a series of workshops. The next one, “De-Stress-ME”, is a stress prevention group for Caregivers that will start on January 21st, each Monday for six weeks.
To facilitate your participation in our activities, we are able to offer, under certain conditions, free in-home accompaniment for your loved one, by a trained home care worker. If you would like more information about the workshops, please contact Yvan Provencher at 450-465-2520 ext. 206.
